This week was awesome!! We saw so many miracles and found some new investigators. It's all so surreal lately since the mission is winding down. Doesn't feel real yet though. Here are a few highlights from the week.
We were able to teach two girls this week that go to Pierce community college. We met them a few weeks ago and they invited us back to share a message. Their names are Gloria and Karina. Gloria has been going to church her whole life but Karina has never really gone to church so it was pretty cool when Gloria started encouraging Karina to come to church with us! We taught the restoration and they both seemed excited to read the Book of Mormon.
Yesterday we were knocking some doors and as we were walking up to a door we noticed a lady inside. We knocked once and the lady went into the back room. We knocked twice and then heard her close her bedroom door. We weren't going to give up that easy, so we knocked a third time! We heard someone say something in Russian...Next thing we know a HUGE shirtless man with a cobra tattoo on his stomach comes up to the door and in a Russian accent said, "What do you want?"
We told him we were the missionaries and went to shake his hand. Instead of shaking our hands he stared at us and said "This is not good in Russian tradition...I'll be right back" and left.
We were pretty sure he was going to come back with a shotgun, but he grabbed something better!
A BOOK OF MORMON! (AND A SHIRT!) He had just gotten back from a trip to Salt Lake City and, of course, went to the Visitors Center at Temple Square! He was very excited and was showing us a bunch of pictures and we were able to set up an appointment for next week!!! He and his family should be coming to church soon.
Mmakgabo and TK are doing great. Mmakgabo has been having a lot of ups and downs since day one but since her baptism she has gotten a car, got a better paying job, and is finding a better place to live. We met with her this week and she said "God is fixin things, eh?" hahah she has such amazing faith and she's already inviting all her friends to come to church or meet with us! Amazing.
She invited her best friend and his family to church this week!! It's so cool to see how much fire recent converts have inside to share the Gospel...shouldn't we all have that fire inside though? The Gospel is a blessing to each and every one of us and we should always look for opportunities to pass that on.
