Another great week here at the Ranch! Elder Nielsen and I are having such a good time living the missionary life together! We've had so many good times already and he's just a killer missionary!
We picked up a new investigator named Austin this week. He's 11 years old and his mom is a member but hasn't brought him to church most of his life. We had our first lesson with him an taught him about the Restoration of the gospel and how it can bless our lives. He loved it and we set a baptismal date with him for March 8th! After the lesson we started talking about soccer and he told us his favorite team was Barcelona...and lucky for him we had a Barcelona soccer ball in our apartment that hadn't been used. So for our next lesson that week we brought it to him and he was so stoked! Elder Nielsen is so good at teaching kids. We taught the entire Gospel Of Jesus Christ lesson with these hand motions and all the kids had so much fun and could actually remember what we taught them!
We were able to teach the Aird (Not Ayers...we were wrong the whole time haha) family this week as well! They have read in their scriptures every night and have been learning so much! The little kids love the story book. We sat with them at stake conference and I colored and drew pictures with John to keep him busy so his parents could learn. He opened up his drawing book and it was filled with pictures from the book. He drew the tree of life, the 2000 stripling warriors and tons of pictures of Nephi building or riding in a boat haha. That morning elder Nielsen and I had made a list of all the people we wanted them to meet from the ward and it was so cool to see how the Lord placed them all right next to us. After the meeting we just started grabbing them and introducing them to the Aird. The members were so awesome...they started setting up play dates and offered to babysit and Craig and Sandy were just blown away at how much support they were getting already. It was so cool to see. Church and religion is new for Sandy but it's really growing on her.
We had Mission Leadership Council, Zone Training Meeting and New missionary training this week. We were giving lots of trainings and man it was draining. For the last meeting we had to train in I forgot to print out the Agendas and luckily Elder Nielsen remembered haha. We rushed back to the office and printed them right before it started! It's so nice having a companion to help you out.
