People are all around us that are just waiting for the Gospel.

April 17, 2017

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter week! We sure enjoyed it here in the Woodland Hills Ward!

This week has been crazy busy. Monday wasn't a usual p-day because we had a ton of transfer things to get done so it would all flow smoothly. But transfers went well so it payed off!

At transfers I got reunited with Elder Martin!! We're going to kill it together in Woodland Hills. It'll be a sick transfer together again. We've already had some good times again since being together. We actually have a cool miracle that already happened to us. On Monday I was like "it's my last day as an assistant and I can go anywhere in the mission I want!" so we went down to North Hollywood to spend the day with their zone and take a quick pit stop at Manet's house. She wasn't home but I left a card on her door and told her to call Elder Martin and I when she got it. So the next day she called!!! She asked us to come by tonight and teach her again. The missionaries haven't been able to get an appointment with her since last year so we called president and he gave us permission to go and have a pass off lesson with the Burbank Elders! We're so stoked! Pray that the lesson will go well!

We were able to have a lesson with our investigator Mary Anne as well. It's really cool to see how much knowledge that she already has, and how much more she is gaining. It's such a blessing to be a small part of someones progression towards the Savior. She was found during knock out and said that this is something she never knew existed, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and that she is so thankful that God sent missionaries her way. People are all around us that are just waiting for the Gospel.

We had a meeting with President Henrie and the stake President this week. Elder Martin and I set a few goals with them to get the wards more into missionary work and President seemed really happy about it. So we are expecting great things from our zone this transfer!!

Easter Sunday....one I'll probably never forget. We had church. It's always good to reflect and recommit ourselves to live better lives, and apply the Atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives more. Hearing the primary kids sing in Sacrament meeting, was really cool as well. They sang a song called "Gethsemane". It reminded me, with the kids singing, how we need to become like a child: submissive, meek, humble, etc. There was no knockout either, with it being Easter. So we made some good visits, and then dinner. We ate with this couple, who the husband got off his mission in 2012, and they've only been married for a couple months. We had hamburgers, which we think weren't cooked thoroughly, with green tomatoes, and what we think was bad mushrooms. It didn't take long before I threw up. We did not feel well. The mission nurse told us, that if we could, make ourselves throw up.....so we had an interesting night to say the least haha. It was good though haha. I will have you know though, that the family did not know we were sick or that we threw up in their bathroom. Good times with Elder Martin.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!
